- · Status of DOL Appraisal Program - Santhuff resignation, Current Leadership, Problems needing resolution, On-line Renewal, ListServ, contemplation of alternative program management, and other items.
- · Initial planning for “ACOW BEFORE SPRING II” - February 17, 2006, following REAC Meeting.
- Review of ACOW AT THE SUMMIT VII - August 18 & 19, 2005.
- Preplanning for “ACOW AT THE SUMMIT VIII - August 17 & 18, 2006.
- · 2005 LEGISLATIVE implementation: Trainee Appraiser Bill (SB5274), now Chapter 339 of the Laws of 2005 - Implementation is underway with drafting of revisions to 308-125 WAC.
- · 2006 LEGISLATIVE FUTURE: ACOW expects the related topics of Lender Pressure and Predatory Lending to be in the forefront, along with appropriate revisions to the Mortgage Brokers Practices Act (19.146 RCW). A meeting with DFI is being tomorrow morning. Also, DOL is expected to seek legislative revival of 2005’s HB 1395 “Modifying provisions concerning the uniform regulation of business and professions” (18.235 RCW).
- · REAC meets next on November 18, 2005. Agenda will be at: http://www.dol.wa.gov/app/appfront.htm. Visit it regularly for latest info, especially as to Agenda Items 5, 10, & 11, and possible special meetings.
- · Suggestions received for changes to ACOW’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and Administration methods.
- · Maximizing benefits for Clients, Borrowers & Appraisers with new appraisal report forms. FNMA’s new forms required on and after 11-01-2005, usable now as are various test forms.
- · Pending Federal Legislation: H.R.1295 “Responsible Lending Act” needs Cosponsors from WA US Rep’s.
- · Web Site enhancements underway. www.acow-wa.org
- · ACOW membership growth is necessary for appraisers’ futures. Statewide billing and communications.
- ACOW Monthly Meeting Schedule: Sept. 8, Oct. 6, Nov. 10, and Dec. 8, 2005.
