About Us

The Appraisers’ Coalition of Washington (the Coalition) was founded in 1995 and organized by the Washington chapters of appraisal organizations. It consists of Organization Members, Individual Members, and an Affiliate Member within Washington State, and it partners with local and national organizations for the support and advocacy of the appraisal profession. The Coalition works to foster open communication, serving as a connection between those actively practicing or seeking to enter the appraisal profession and policy decision-makers, state governing entities, and other organizations with oversight on guidance and standards that govern the appraisal profession in our state.
For over 30 years, we have focused our advocacy efforts with our state legislators on improving the enforcement of appraisal standards and we strive to work in close collaboration with government agencies, regulators, and stakeholders, raising awareness of issues affecting appraisers and providing education to encourage progress that leads to solutions. We are committed to fostering public trust, confidence, and supporting public interest in professional appraisal practice through our non-partisan interaction with legislative bodies, government regulatory agencies and other related organizations, as well as support of the maintenance and improvement of the Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice and its effective enforcement by the State of Washington.
We host an annual educational conference, bringing to our members an array of subject-matter experts and professionals in the areas of real estate, valuation, technology, and market forecasting. This year, we were honored to be the State Organization Host of the 2026 Appraiser's Conference and Trade Show (ACTS), co-hosted by the National Association of Appraisers (NAA) and Appraiser eLearning. We also offer periodic single-course education opportunities, virtually and in person, and we co-host a number of social and networking events with other organizations.
